About

It’s hard to remember a time in my life when I wasn’t writing. My parents laughed at the notebook and pen extensions on my arms — I always had something to write in and with. My mind was active with story lines and characters and scenes, so much so that I often fell asleep at night while thinking through a new adventure.

My love of writing took me to college, working for a semester as the editor-in-chief of the newspaper. I earned my bachelor’s degree in English/Journalism from California University of Pennsylvania. (You might find old columns sometimes posted here on #tbt.) After graduation, I got to work at Highlights for Children magazine, as an editorial assistant on the book side with Boyds Mills Press. But I missed writing, so I returned to my hometown and worked writing features and weekly columns in the Business and Lifestyle sections of our local newspaper.

In 2006, I entered the fledgling blogging world with my other blog, Writer’s Block. No one even knew what a blog was back then. (Go figure, right?) I had to explain and feel my way along, begging people to read what I’d written. After awhile I forgot about wanting a certain number of followers and just wrote. Looking back, I’m really glad. I have lots of snapshots of memories during those year.

Now, I re-enter with a new blog…about writing. Feel free to comment, chat, follow, and read anything in any order on here. The advice is free. Sign up for email updates so you can stop back often for freebies and contests and guest bloggers.

The writing world is big and wide and fun. Let’s have fun in it together!
